Promoted teams
Based on 2017/18 Fantasy Championship points (FPL-like but without bonus points)

Wolverhampton Wanderers

Best player
Diogo Jota (6.5) - 44 matches, 17 goals, 5 assists - the dribbler, the creator, the goalscorer.

Forwards
Léo Bonatini (5.0) - 43 matches, 12 goals, 5 assists - should have been team's main strike force but with the loan signing of Raúl Jiménez (5.5) I don't think he is so much of a number 1.

Midfielders
Rúben Neves (5.0) - 42 matches, 7 goals, 1 assist, Wolves' Player of the Season. But statistically I'd say Ivan Cavaleiro (5.5) - 42 matches, 9 goals, 12 assists - is a better bet while Hélder Costa (5.0) - the hero of the previous season - has seen his season spoilt by the injury. Still his numbers are not that bad - 36 matches, 5 goals, 6 assists.

Defenders
It might be surprising but Wolves' assist leader is their left-back, Barry Douglas (5.0) - 39 matches, 5 goals, 14 assists - add to this plenty of clean sheets and you got yourself a defender you could only dream of. With the style Wolves are playing no wonder their second best bet is another wing back, Matt Doherty (4.5) - 45 matches, 4 goals, 4 assists - with a couple of vital winners for the club. However, I can see a transfer being made to strengthen that position so let's wait and see. If you want a CB then look no further than Willy Boly (4.5) - 36 matches, 3 goals, 2 assists - though Romain Saïss (4.5) also knows well where the opposite goal is - 42 matches, 4 goals.

Goalkeepers
I had hoped John Ruddy (4.5) - 45 matches, 24 clean sheets - would be given a chance but seeing as we signed Portugal's no.1 Rui Patrício surely he now is our number 1 as well. I think his price will be 5.5.

Cardiff City

Best player
David Junior Hoilett (5.5) - 46 matches, 9 goals, 11 assists - you know this guy well from his Blackburn and QPR days.

Forwards
Bobby Reid (5.5) - 46 matches, 19 goals, 7 assists (for Bristol City) - was his team's Player of the Season which tells you something. How he assimilates in a new club and at a new level is another question. Kenneth Zohore (5.0) - 36 matches, 9 goals, 5 assists - will be ready to make quite an impressive partnership with Bobby or become a useful sub.

Midfielders
Callum Paterson (5.5) - 32 matches, 10 goals, 4 assists, Cardiff's Young Player of the Year.
Joe Ralls (5.0) - 37 matches, 7 goals, 4 assists.
Nathaniel Mendez-Laing (5.0) - 38 matches, 6 goals, 5 assists.

Defenders
Sean Morrison (5.0) - 39 matches, 7 goals, 1 assist, City's Player of the Season.
Sol Bamba (4.5) - 46 matches, 4 goals, 1 assist.
Joe Bennett (4.5) - 38 matches, 1 goal, 4 assists.

Goalkeepers
Neil Etheridge (4.5) - 45 matches, 19 clean sheets - was quite an important part of overall solid defence but I can see Cardiff going for a more experienced one here.

Fulham

Best player
Ryan Sessegnon (6.5) - 49 matches, 16 goals, 8 assists, Championship Player of the Year, EFL Young Player of the Year, Championship Apprentice Award - unbelievable achievement at the age of 18 and the breakthrough season. Will be interesting to see how he adapts to the grim realities of the Premier League.

Forwards
Aboubakar Kamara (4.5) - 32 matches, 7 goals, 1 assist - is the only Fulham striker in the game so far. But actually Rui Fonte (4.5) - 27 matches, 3 goals, 2 assists - and Floyd Ayité (4.5) - 29 matches, 4 goals, 2 assists - are also strikers mentioned as midfielders so if they stay there, and will be starters, they can become nice fillers for our teams.

Midfielders
Tom Cairney (5.0) - 37 matches, 6 goals, 5 assists - his goal made Fulham an EPL club again.
Stefan Johansen (5.5) - 48 matches, 8 goals, 9 assists - top assistant.
Neeskens Kebano (4.5) - 27 matches, 3 goals, 3 assists.

Defenders
Again, there are only two players there so far but they are pretty much the best out of what Fulham have right now.
Tim Ream (4.5) - 47 matches, 1 goal, Fulham's Player of the Season.
Denis Odoi (4.5) - 41 matches, 2 goals.

Goalkeepers
Marcus Bettinelli (4.5) - 29 matches, 14 clean sheets - like in every promoted team I expect a change here.

Wolves play 3 at the back? But you mention Saïss? He's classed as a def in FPL but is he playing DM? Is Ryan Bennett playing in the 3 for 4.0?
RAPID
No, Coady usually played as DM hence I didn't mention him...

Are you saying Coady didn't play 45 games in central defence?

And that Saïss didn't start 35 times in central midfield?

Were they swapping or something or are WhoScored wrong? huh.gif

Is Ryan Bennett a starter in the back 3?

RAPID
Starting line-ups are often formal, especially in lower rank divisions. Plus, Wolves were almost always dominating the game so Coady actually played higher than CB...

Anyway, all that will be inappropriate when we sign Mawson! smile.gif

Okay... I'm just about buying what you say laugh.gif I'll wait and see. Got Jota in though, he looks good!

Costa tempted a trip out of the Ajax defence when running at pace and the referee pointed to the spot. Neves stepped up unfazed and sent Onana the wrong way from 12 yards.

Jota was on the pitch!

Who will he preplace I wonder?
RAPID
QUOTE
I am told by a Wolves insider (Adam Bate rather than Romulus or Remus) that Romain Saiss is in line to start over actual central defender Ryan Bennett in a bid to get him into the team following the Portuguese invasion. Which basically makes me realise I need to clue up a lot more on Wolves.

QUOTE
It appears that Santo will stick with the three-man backline that got Wolves out of the Championship, with wing-backs and three roaming attackers.

The sale of Douglas may cast some doubt over that but new-boy Castro should be able to fill in immediately.

The major change looks set to be moving 28-year-old Romain Saiss into the back three alongside Boly and Conor Coady, after he played as a central defender for Morocco at this summer’s World Cup.

That should allow Moutinho to slot in alongside Neves in the centre of the park, with the two Portuguese playmakers charged with getting Wolves on the front foot wherever possible.

Still, can't believe Neves and Moutinho will be doing all on their own which means one of CBs should help 'em...
RAPID
QUOTE
Willy Boly and Raul Jimenez earned Wolves the win, after Gerard Moreno had put the visitors in front and Ruben Neves had wasted the chance to equalise from the penalty spot.

Moutinho was taking responsibility for set pieces early on and his corner on 16 minutes was met by a firm Romain Saiss header which flew over the bar.

Wolves likely line-up vs Everton:

Who's on pens now and is Costa safe even if they sign Adama Traore? I'm going back n forth on including wolves defender. Fixtures at start are little bit dicey but I do think they'll beat Everton and possibly keep cs

Neves is on pens but he missed it yesterday so there's a slightly chance Jota (or even Moutinho) might take 'em over...

If we sign Traore then Costa isn't safe because Santo sees Adama as a potential key to our success...

For me now Doherty is the best one! Will try to squeeze him into my team...

You are welcome SP! thumbsup.gif
