Hello everybody,

Let me start off by tipping my hat off to the great job PTC has done with the interview, I knew I hired the right man for the job. Perfect interview, levels better than anything I could've pulled off...

Now in regards to everything else..

Unfortunately, I have become extremely busy IRL, between juggling a new position at the company, being a full-time graduate student, and now preparing for my wedding in about a couple of month which will be back home in Sudan ( yes at 23 years old and yes I've already been called crazy/mad/suicidal/you-name-it ), there is simply no way I can run this thing anymore. Fortunately this board has members capable of not only running this, but also doing a better job than I ever did. As much as I hate abandoning my baby mid-way through the season and leaving everything hanging like this I really have no choice...

Now as far as updates, I believe it'll be a pretty easy task as all the captains are already tallying their scores themselves, so it'll only be a matter of putting the posts together.

I believe the best way forward will be to take this week off while a new leader(s) is/are appointed and things get sorted out. Its up to you guys but I'd think a week will give you guys time for a smooth transition.

I don't want to choose someone to take over, I feel that decision should be left up to you guys, perhaps the captains should take a vote on it. Whatever you folks decide I have an excel file with all the stats you'd need going forward.

Regarding the whole BRFC situation I'd suggest he goes back to the bidding table while the rules get refined during the transitional phase.

As far as my participation in YFF I can't screw the Demons over after the Doc situation. I'll change my team every week but I will probably spend 5 minutes on it weekly. I'll check the team news before I confirm it and also provide Jaz with the line-up.

I'll be around this weekend to answer any questions and help you guys make the smooth transition.

I'm older than you and haven't even considered getting married yet so I must ask, are you crazy?

Anyways I don't think it's that difficult or time consuming to update the scores especially if you have the excel file. I use one to calculate LCN's score as it is and it takes less than 2 minutes. I also don't think we should skip this week...it's something we all look forward to every week. I'm willing to update the scores for this week. I also think there should be 2 or 3 people updating the scores taking turns week by week.

BRFC can stay in the ludus for now as we work things out.

I suggest all the captains have a vote on this matter..whether VCs can bid for a player or not and the decision reached will be the final one and we will follow that from next week.

CD, thanks for setting the competition up and your sterling work thus far The Arena has been and hopefully will remain the best side competition this site has ever had.

Congratulations on your forthcoming nuptials as well, as long as you've found the partner you want to be with for the rest of your life, then it doesn't matter how old you are and don't let anybody tell you any different. Hope you both have a long and happy life together.

Regarding a replacement for CD to do the updates, might I suggest nahmartin (if he doesn't object of course!), the man is an excel whizz and an active contributor to the site, I'm sure he'll do a great job.

I don't think we need to have a break this week while we agree on a replacement, I'm sure between us we can post the final scores from last week and hopefully by the time the weekend is out we will have agreed on a replacement.

As for the BRFC issue, the fairest resolution would be to place him in the Ludus for this week whilst we agree on the bidding rules and then open it up for bidding for next weeks deadline.

BRFC going back into the Ludus? you can forget about that idea. there was a deadline we put a bid in fair and square and people just turn around and say "i suggest he goes back into the Ludus" what a farce

CD, what a shame you have to leave this comp but congrats on the upcoming day it could go either way, i suggest you take charge at an early stage or you'll end having the problems that charlie has all the best for the big day and most importantly, enjoy it, coz it doesn't come around often

My wife was only 22 years old when we married (I was 29), we had the same comments about her age, the age gap issues as well, but it felt right so we went ahead.. Now, nearly 11 years later, we are still together and have 2 wonderful Sons - so go for it!

Seriously, you have created 'THE' best event in the Arena, I simply love it and look forward to it every week, especially the banter between all teams. We should keep it going this week as normal...

CD, firstly, thank you so much for organizing the arena game. it is probably the best game on s11 ever. it is really fun and you know what? the imperfection makes it even more fun! remember what happened when i forgot to post the lineup? remember when guys started to go bidding frenzy? and then now this? i think you'll miss this part of the game the most! but i guess we have more important things to deal with in real life like marriage and your career.

congrats in making probably your most important decision in your life! it's always good to get these things sorted out at an early age so you can have the love and support in everything you do in the future. well done in doing so and trust me, all the guys that say you're getting married too early are just jealous of you.

as for your replacement, i guess whoever that wants to step up should be given the chance to. if we do end up getting more than 1 volunteer, then perhaps everyone should vote. right now, it seems to me that nahmartin is the clear favorite to replace you, CD. well, i hope he's ready to deal with all the issues that come with taking up the role. it'll be fun.

now, just a few questions about your involvement in the future. will you still play yff? will you still be around among the s11 boards? it'll be such a pity if you just stop playing and not appear on W&T during the weekends. who's gonna make those "messsssiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii" posts?

I agree with Ice. I got married at 24 and it was the best decision I ever made and one of the best days of my life so enjoy every last minute of it.

I love this game and we will certainly miss having you run the game as you've turned this into a competition that many of us see as even more fun than YFF itself. Kudos for that.

I certainly hope you'll be playing YFF in future and still be a part of the Demons. Let me know if you still feel up to being the VC for our team or if you feel you'd be too busy in the event I was away.

I've also started a new job and will be fairly busy and need more help over the next couple of months so I may call on my VC more often.

That said my first meeting in the new job is April 11-15 in Barcelona. I see Barca plays Getafe on the 11th. Off to the Nou Camp for me if I can (can't wait).

A near perfect score By FB this week leading the way, with his team scoring 7 points for the week. Solid team picking by Lee 93% rewarded by 8 points haul. Ice will be disappointed with his and his teams performance this week not sitting pretty at the bottom of both tables this week

Overall


FB closes the gap to 0.4% to MI with two very strong weeks. Sanki closes the gap at the bottom to 0.3% to Grattan while Ice loses over 1% due to his sub 70% performance

How about if all bids are PM'd to yourself (yes, even your own bids as captain) and copied to me? Failure to copy me in renders that bid invalid.

I could handle that, and there's no conflict of interest since I'm not playing the game.
