Finally saw (very) delayed coverage of La Fleche Wallonne on NBC. Fantastic of Valverde to push past Dan Martin on that final hill, a slow motion sprint. biggrin.gif

Don't know if I can watch Liege Bastogne Liege live tomorrow.I will likely need to find highlights later on Youtube as NBC's delayed coverage won't occur till midnight. angry.gif

A 200 point gap between us? I need a little more than just Henao to gain half that divide biggrin.gif

Well done Broadview. Easy win in this competition. First time I played, but it's good fun. I'll give it another try next year I hope. thumbsup.gif Let's see if I can gain a bit on you this last race.

Thanks, ended up 272 overall. It's a tough game with timing of the subs as the important key.

Now there is a Tour de Romandie comp with line-ups due Tuesday night. Froome is the fave in this one. Not sure if I'll enter though.

For the first time ever, I sort of followed these Classics. You really do need to do a lot of research beforehand to figure out which races suit which riders, pick a starting team...then plan out strategic transfers along the way.

Not easy. 272 is pretty darn good. thumbsup.gif

272 is amazing. Well done on Costa and Sanchez too. I underestimated the toughness of this edition. This was one for good climbers and strong men like that. thumbsup.gif

Finished 1800+ overall. Out of 4000+. Hardly spectacular, but I enjoyed following the classics much more closely than I normally do.

Simon Yates. rolleyes.gif

I know the team and the doctor are claiming responsibility for an admin error, but as an athlete surely you should be doing your own due diligence to make sure that your arse is covered.

They really just go along, clueless as to what everyone else is doing, knowing that one wrong move can jeopardise their careers/reputation?

I have no sympathy.

Usual problems with the Velo format.

I know the team I want, I have the funds, but their categorisation of riders prevents me from making the picks I want.

Woe is me.

You are light years ahead of me. My team will be a Friday night special.

Nice and different teams guys! Charlie seems to have chosen quite some tt specialists. We all have different men for the gc. I need Valverde to do well. Uran, Landa and Nibali are the other main men in the list. Quite different Sprinters too. Kittel, Nizzolo, Modolo and Viviani. Didn't go Kittel because I think he'll quit the race before the end and I'd like someone with a shot at the red Jersey.

I wouldn't have bothered with Cancellera but, if I recall correctly, there wasn't anyone else I liked in that category group.

I'm hoping Kittel gets a couple of stage wins before he runs home. biggrin.gif It was between him and Ewan for my main sprinter. Nizzolo is a very decent pick and a heavy favourite to get the points jersey at the end.

I would have liked Valverde, but, well...not enough cash.

A couple of others I seriously considered are the Russians - Zakarin and Firsanov.

Firsanov is a huge gamble on my part. He hasn't really raced against the big guns. It's cute he wins some obscure Italian course, but Landa, Nibali and Valverde are different beasts altogether. He could be a surprise, but he could also finish every mountain stage @3 minutes.

Agreed that it is a very good mix of teams, yet all three of us picked Dumoulin and Cancellara today. I know there are three ITT's but I did not stress those stages enough perhaps.

I like that each of us has one of the top 3 contenders - Nibali, Landa, and Valverde. Will make an interesting contest. cool.gif

Well done, and you might be able to keep it that way for a stage or two. That would place you in a very challenging position for us to catch up with, even if Kittel drops out early.

I really thought that Jakub Mareczko was going to be a sneaky good pick as sprint back up to Kittel.

He's rubbish.

Still, Kittel's ok, though. wink.gif

Fraile lost his KOM jersey. sad.gif

And Dumoulin lost his jersey. That's enough Kittel for you. Can't wait to get past these sprint stages. angry.gif

Viviani and Nizzolo did well, but Kittel is killing us sofar.
