First Group Stage - Weekly update for group A

15 pts Usual Suspects
15 pts Time For Trumpton
15 pts RelegationDelegation
12 pts Well End Wanderers
09 pts Sultan Of Barnet FC
06 pts Crazylegs Crafty's

Week 8 Results

Usual Suspects 64
Sultan Of Barnet FC 32

RelegationDelegation 92
Crazylegs Crafty's 103

Well End Wanderers 67
Time For Trumpton 121

I was well and truely beaten by the team who got exactly double my points, Usual Suspects. They now sit on top of the group table but just on goal difference. The Usual Suspects will meet Time For Trumpton in the next game.

Time For Trumpton got the highest score this gameweek to thrash Well End Wanderers who have been slowly dropping down the group table and play Crazylegs Crafty's next.

Crazylegs Crafty's, who couldn't buy a win in the first few weeks is finding his form. Crazylegs Crafty's beat one of the joint top teams RelegationDelegation, who has the pleasure of playing me next (I can't wait!)

With Crazylegs Crafty's finding his form and myself never having any, I can see me ending up in bottom spot by week 10, oh the shame.

Week 9 Fixtures

RelegationDelegation
Sultan Of Barnet FC

Well End Wanderers
Crazylegs Crafty's

Time For Trumpton
Usual Suspects

Sorry one and all for the delay in the update of data from week 8. Lee and I sat on a beach somewhere and had a few day's off. Due to the international break. Back to normal service next week (we hope).

All tables, results and fixtures updated in first few posts.

Group A week 9 round up.

RelegationDelegation 67
Sultan Of Barnet FC 59

Well End Wanderers 57
Crazylegs Crafty's 66

Time For Trumpton 66
Usual Suspects 47

18 pts Time For Trumpton
18 pts RelegationDelegation
15 pts Usual Suspects
12 pts Well End Wanderers
09 pts Crazylegs Crafty's
09 pts Sultan Of Barnet FC

Can't believe it, I am bottom of the group, with 1 week to go. How'd that happen? Crazylegs got his act together and caught me up. We are both on 9 pts so I need a win or draw and for him to lose. He can still beat me if we both win, I'm doomed.

Time For Trumpton and RelegationDelegation both on 18 pts will be fighting it out for bragging rights.

Week 10 fixtures

Well End Wanderers
Sultan Of Barnet FC

Time For Trumpton
Crazylegs Crafty's

RelegationDelegation
Usual Suspects

Congrats to you and the lady of the house. But 15 years is nothing, I've been hitched 31 years and counting.

First Group Stage - Week 10 - Group A Final round-up

21 pts Time For Trumpton
18 pts Usual Suspects
18 pts RelegationDelegation
12 pts Well End Wanderers
12 pts Sultan Of Barnet FC
09 pts Crazylegs Crafty's

Well End Wanderers 41
Sultan Of Barnet FC 55

Time For Trumpton 48
Crazylegs Crafty's 39

RelegationDelegation 41
Usual Suspects 42

I picked a good time to find form and be the groups highest scorer. I won my match against Well End Wanderers, to stop myself being the bottom team of the group. I maybe the lowest placed team of this group, in the actual league, but I kept off the bottom of the group.

Crazylegs Crafty's took the dishonour of bottom team. Unlucky week to play Time For Trumpton, who not only topped the group. They top the overall league table as well, so were the highest seeded team in the second round of group games so remain in Group A (with Lee, Ha ha.)

Usual Suspects took second place in the group by beating RelegationDelegation by just 1 point. RelegationDelegation did get good luck though, he gets the honour of my company in the the next stage in group C. As he's the highest seeded team and I'm the lowest, I think that's an easy 6 pts for him already.

Good luck to all my fellow Group A rivals, except RelegationDelegation of course. Hope you make it through to the Champions League in your new groups.

Results and tables for the end of the first group stage are now in the first few posts.

As are the fixtures for week 1 of the second group stage, and group listings. The listings I will repeat though after this.

So after first group stage, the overall league positions will be used and teams will be seeded and put into a second group stage.
This will mean that each group has a spread of skills. Each group will have a team from the top 8 and bottom 8 teams (and in between).
This will give the top teams an advantage (may be) to progress into the Champions League but as all teams start the second group stage in equal positions anything can happen. Some teams (mainly those new to the FPL game) start slowly but they learn the game and get better so are harder to beat.

Now the real competition begins!
Here's how Group B will pan out:

Group B
Kwng f.c (Seed:2nd)
2nd Highest scorer in the league, ranked globally in the top 70,000...Kwng will be super tough to beat. Hot favourites to win this group and possibly go unbeaten, it'll be a brave man who bets against these Malaysian All Stars.
Finish: 1st

Well End Wanderers (10th)
Currently sitting 10th is Well End. Having begun strongly, the Wanderers are entering a mini crisis. October hasn't been great for them, ranked 29th and miles off the pace, they only managed to finish 4th in their group. Injuries have hit hard and lack of squad depth is starting to take its toll. Wanderers to struggle but may just nick a champions league spot.
Finish: 4th

Real Stoke FC (18th)
A team on the up. Some great summer signings are bedded in. They've got money to burn and high ambition. Watch out for the stokers who may have begun slowly but they're really starting to heat up.
Finish: 3rd

Inter Defence (26th)
Awful. One of two Inter teams back in the same group. Neither looked great. ID finished above the Macs but are having a terrible month. Change of managers, rumour of dressing room unrest, midweek even saw the old vote of confidence from the chairman. A sinking ship whose best bet lies within the tardy Sultans Cup now sponsored by Tescos.
Finish: 6th

Inter McShambles (34th)
Its not been pretty. In fact, they've been ****. An awful mess of a team that plumbed the depths of the low ranks of 3million at one stage. 1 solitary group stage victory and squarely at the base of any aspirational pyramid...seeking shelter and food! They may have made a dogs breakfast of the seeding stage but a mighty comeback is on the cards. Quarterfinalists and perennial champions league qualifiers, you write the Macs off at your peril (rank 24th for form in October)
Finish: 2nd

Enter My Lamb (42nd)
Dark horse alert. This team is not as bad as 42nd! They actually finished runner up in their group despite a very poor score. Some surprising results along the way shows that this team have one very important commodity on their side...luck! Another super rich side that will eke out their way to the top of the table...the new Wimbledon/Stoke or this years Watford!
Finish: 4th

Best of luck to all
Macs

'Tardy' anything the Sultan has his name attached to is far from being Tardy. angry.gif

That said loved the round up.

GROUP D (The Runners)

(2nd seed 517points) Behind brown eyes
Seems to have blue eyes going by this teams recent form and rank
117,723 in the FPL ranking never going higher than 1.4 million in rank
Last 5 weeks have been good with a small rank drop last week like most out there
(Definite stayer) wink.gif

(12th seed 499 points) Steamshovels
Another with a good ranking and good recent form with 4 green arrows in the last 5 weeks
255,132 in FPL rank
Been as high as 2.3 million in rank but definitely made big gains in the last 4 game-weeks
(One to watch) cool.gif

(20th seed482 points) Crazylegs Crafty's
459,564 in FPL rank and has been as high as 2.7 million in rank
Staged a massive fight-back to get to within 400, thousand plus in rank, no mean feat I tell thee
small rank drop like most last week
(Back this nag at your peril) laugh.gif

(28th seed 462 points) Cara's slugs
799,985 in FPL ranking been as high as nearly 1.9 million in rank
More red arrows than greens this team but could surprise
No big gains just a steady runner across the last 10 gameweeks
(More tortoise than Hare) whistling.gif

(36th seeded 437 points) Chicken Chasseerrrs
1,372,950 in FPL ranking been as high as 2.6 million in rank
Very slow mover this one in fact hasn't really made any gains in the last 7 gameweeks
More green arrows than reds but staying behind the pack
Needs to get off the rail
(get a move on the jockeys falling asleep) tongue.gif

(44th seeded 414 points) Funtaztix fc
1,942,057 in FPL ranking and a season high of 2.4 million ranking which was surprisingly last week shok.gif
6 red arrows and only 3 greens shows this manager needs a sugar cube or too
(3 legged nag with a very slim chance) lol.gif

Good luck to all tongue.gif

Second Group Stage Week 1 - Group C round-up

3 pts WALOR
3 pts Real Aston Vanilla
3 pts Sultan Of Barnet FC
0 pts Atx 1303
0 pts Iron Dome FC
0 pts RelegationDelegation

Week 1 results

RelegationDelegation 56.0
WALOR 76.0

Real Aston Vanilla 70.0
Iron Dome FC 55.0

Atx 1303 49.0
Sultan Of Barnet FC 50.0

I know it is far too early to know who will make the Champoins League yet. But RelegationDelegation were the top seeded team in the group and should by rights walk away with top spot. So it was a bit of a shock to see them lose in week one. Admitedly to the second seed team WALOR. RelegationDelegation will take on fellow losers Iron Dome FC.

Iron Dome FC lost to the 3rd seeded team Real Aston Vanilla. Lucky Real Aston Vanilla will face me next week, so on paper it should be an easy win for them.

Yet although I am the lowest seeded team in the group I won my game against Atx 1303. It was by just one point so a very close game indeed. Atx 1303 will face a tough game next week as they will face WALOR

Week 2 Fixtures

RelegationDelegation
Iron Dome FC

WALOR
Atx 1303

Real Aston Vanilla
Sultan Of Barnet FC
