Fantastic. ![]() How about an ultra marathon? 100 miles across a desert, or something stupid like that. ![]() ![]() Going to find something completely different I think. I'll continue to run a bit but I have had enough of this endurance stuff. Maybe Kendo or something more physical |

Or you could take inspiration from your best mate(s) the Surgeon, and climb mountains. He did one every week. ![]() |

Tick and Tick ![]() Had to get someone to fix my legs at 27k as I got cramp in both. Needed to fast walk for an hour to loosen them but managed to run the last 6 to get in under 5 hours which I am happy with. 5k to a marathon in a year... need to find a new challenge that's awesome nm! ![]() i've ran for almost 8 years now and i still haven't attempted a marathon. the main reason is because i wanna finish with decent time, like 4.5 hours or under. what was your time at the end? the fact that you finished within 5 hours is pretty damn amazing, considering that you didn't run the whole thing. i know some ppl who ran the whole thing for more than 5. regarding you finding a new challenge, why don't you continue running, just longer distances? |

Cheers, 4:30 would have been great and I understand wanting to train for that. It is tough though so I would recommend not trying to aim for a time as you will need the mental strength to get through it without thinking about trying to do it fast. The thing with longer distances is that I did not find 5 hours of running fun. Halves are a good amount of running time but longer is very tough |

Halves are a good amount of running time but longer is very tough that's why i haven't really went for it. one of these days i'll definitely do it. i agree, half marathons are a good distance. btw, some people transition from marathons to trail running and doing longer distances there? have you considered that? trail running is not all about running nonstop, it's a lot of stop and go. i've tried a bit but not in a race, cuz i've only trained with some friends who were going for a 60k race. |
